What not to miss on the Canon stand at IBC 2019

As the worlds of media and technology converge for the annual International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Canon is once more bringing cutting-edge innovation to its engaging stand. IBC 2019 runs from 13 to 17 September at the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre, Amsterdam, and is one of the world's biggest industry shows.

1. Explore newly-released lenses and cameras

Get a first look at new releases to see how Canon continues to innovate in the professional market at the Canon IBC 2019 stand. See the brand new Canon CJ15EX4.3B before anyone else. Come along to the Oscar Area to see some of the equipment that the filmmakers used to shoot these nominated features and the winning Free Solo, a visually breathtaking and technically challenging film documenting a pioneering ascent of the 900 metre granite rock face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, USA. Alex Honnold, one of the world's best free solo climbers, achieved the breathtaking climb without any ropes or harnesses.

The Oscar-winning documentary was filmed over a two-year period using three Canon camera bodies – a Canon EOS C300 Mark II, a Canon EOS-1D X Mark II and a Canon XC10 – with a range of prime and zoom lenses including Canon Cinema Primes, the CINE-SERVO CN7x17 KAS S E1/P1, the CINE-SERVO CN20x50 IAS H E1/P1, Compact Cinema Zooms, CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6 L SP and EF lenses.

Jimmy Chin, the film's co-director, co-producer and director of photography, says: “Ultimately, the film looks beautiful because of the Cinema cameras and Cinema lenses we were able to use.”
